Today is my best friend Alie’s birthday, so when she came over last night to shoot our newest video, I had a surprise waiting for her. You see, she has been raving about these “Thai pancakes” that she once got from a little Thai dessert shop in Hollywood for over a year, so before she came by, I stopped at the shop and picked some up for her. I was excited to try them as well. The shop was freaking adorable, and the owner was so sweet andshowed me around, and even gave me a little pastry to try. I really can’t wait to go back and try more sweets (they have pumpkin in coconut milk!!!). The place is called Bhan Kanom Thai. Here’s the Yelp page for it.

I’m very adventurous when it comes to food. I LOVE food of all kinds and trying new things is super exciting to me. But to be honest, nothing has really ever topped my very favorite food, Bread & Butter pickles. I kinda like it that way…it’s almost comforting.

For the life of me, I cannot remember if carrot sticks and peanut butter go together. It’s great that there’s a photograph of from our original shoot (credited to my sister with our last name misspelled), but the link is to the This Is Why You’re Fat book, which doesn’t credit us by either giving our names, or a link to our video or websites, or anything to identify us, which we agreed upon when letting them use the images. Add to this the fact that we weren’t offered a copy of the book, and were ignored when asked if we could attend the book release party, and I’m a little annoyed that someone else made six figures off other people’s ideas. Just saying.

No, don’t guess. That’s silly. It’s obviously me. Why else would I mention it?

Ehem.

Here, then, a medium format shot of Alie & Georgia. Bit tricky, shooting pairs. They were the second pair of the weekend, and it was only a bit easier with them, having shot a recently-engaged couple the day before.

You focus differently, see. I have to make sure they’re both in focus, make sure my depth of field is deep enough to get ‘em both.

Because Science help me if Georgia’s in focus and Alie isn’t. Or vice versa.

I know what happens! I’ve shot bands before! Folks start reading all manner of madness into a simple mistake. ”You like Georgia better! I’M UGLY!!!!”
